L๐จo๐ค| Despite the weather condition brought on by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, the 6th Highland Vegetable Festival pushed through last Friday, October 25, 2024, held at the Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center Minimal Processing and Packaging Facility (BMPPF).
This yearโs celebration carries the theme, โ๐ป๐ช๐๐ฉ๐๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐จ๐๐ต๐๐ฃ๐๐ฆ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ด๐ก๐ณ๐ฆ: ๐๐ข๐ณ ๐๐๐บ ๐ฐ๐ ๐ฟ๐ช๐๐ฆ, ๐ป๐ฐ๐๐ฐ๐ ๐๐ฏ๐ ๐ป๐ฐ๐๐ฆ.โ
The one-day activity aimed to honor the dedication of key stakeholders for their collaborative efforts in the production and distribution of highland vegetables, promoting the province of Benguet and nearby provinces as primary sources of highland vegetables nationwide.
The opening ceremony was graced by key officials, including Benguet Governor Melchor D. Diclas, Board Member Marie Rose F. Kepes, La Trinidad Mayor Romeo K. Salda, Representative Eric G. Yap represented by Khristine E. Molitas, and Benguet State University President Felipe Salaing Comila. Personnel from BAPTC Project Management Office, led by General Manager Atty. Andres Arnold W. Lampacan, and BAPTC stakeholders led by the Highland Vegetable Festival Stakeholdersโ Association, Inc. President Elsie Gis-it, were also present.
Festivity commenced with a lively praise and worship led by the Rainbow Missions, followed by the opening program and fun games for the stakeholders. Additionally, a concert and giving of prizes to the biggest and heaviest vegetable entry winners were carried out simultaneously in the afternoon.
