The Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC) gladly welcomed five student interns from Benguet State University – College of Information Science – Department of Development Communication (BSU – CIS DevCom) on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, as part of their Midyear Term Agency Internship.
Mildred A. Licangan, Human Resource Management Unit Officer, spearheaded the orientation. She discussed the general policies and objectives of the center’s Student Training Program (STP), highlighting important STP objectives: to develop or enhance skills, knowledge, and attitude; to create a network; to help students with their career paths; and to promote student interns as BAPTC ambassadors.
Octavia S. Ablos, Institutional Development and Extension Services Unit Officer and Officer-in-Charge – Trading Operations Division, discussed the history and operational processes of the trading center. Geraldine A. Bautista, Trading Operations Inspector, and May Claire V. Siplat, Institutional Development Assistant, also participated in this orientation to instruct the student interns on their possible outputs during their internship period. These outputs include the creation and enhancement of IEC materials, promotional materials, AVPs, and the design of calendars, uniforms, and more.
The orientation concluded with a site visit to the trading center’s facilities and offices, giving the student interns a firsthand look at the facility and helping them familiarize themselves with the people they will be working with in the next few days.
The student interns will be immersed in the center for 13 days, enhancing their skills and knowledge with the help of the center’s supervisors. //Emil B. Diego
